What is Coin Sleuth?

Coin Sleuth is the ultimate search tool for coin collectors. It's quick, convenient, simple to use and best of all, it's free!

Coin Sleuth smooths out the process of searching for coins on eBay. eBay is a fantastic venue for coin collectors to find new treasures, but anyone who has tried navigating eBay in search of a particular coin knows how difficult it can be. With literally hundreds of thousands of active coin auctions, and a multitude of sellers to choose from, it can be a serious challenge to find a specific coin available from a reputable seller.

Here at Coin Sleuth, we've done the detective work for you. We've taken eBay's vast search results and whittled them down to the cream of the crop in each coin category. For U.S. coins we list coins available only from top rated sellers and in all categories we focus on the auctions where the bidding is most active (in our opinion this is the truest testament to the validity of an auction). We've also put filters in place to eliminate duplicate auctions and used negative keyword filters to remove unrelated products. In essence, we've tidied up eBay's results to show you only the most relevant, most popular auctions for the particular coin you are looking for.

How do I Search for Coins?

Simply use the navigation bar at the top of this page to find the broad coin category you are looking for. Hovering over a particular category will reveal its subcategories. From there you simply click on the category of your preference to be taken directly to relevant, real-time eBay auction results. Listings will be laid out in columns showing the title of the auction, the current price, the number of bids and the time remaining, as well as a thumbnail of the image of the coin(s) up for auction. Clicking on either the title or the image will take you to eBay so you can view additional details and bid on the auction if you choose.
